345 For Benson (a) The following Turkish warships have been surrendered in accordance with the terms of the armistice. The GOEBEN is at Stenia being prepared for removal to Ismid and it is hoped to move her in a few days. Remaining vessels are interned at the Golden Horn. 2 gunboats and certain motor craft are being permitted for the present to carry out police duties. Turkish vessels surrendered as follows:-
Battle cruiser GOEBEN, Battleship TOORGOOD REIS
Light cruisers HAMIDIEH and MEDJIDIEH
7 destroyers
6 torpedo boats
2 torpedo gunboats
10 gunboats
4 mining vessels
1 sloop
1 armed vessel
Total of 35 vessels
The submarine TURQUOISE has been returned to France.
(b) Following Russian warships have been taken over in the Black Sea:-
Great Britain, Battleships VOLYA and 2 destroyers
France 2 destroyers
Italy 1 destroyer
Greece 1 destroyer
Total 1 battleship and 6 destroyers
The remainder of the Russian Black Sea Fleet is being disarmed at Sevastopol.
(c) Following German warships taken over in the Black Sea:-
Great Britain 2 submarines
France 2 submarines and 1 yacht
Total 5 vessels
(d) A British Naval Officer has proceeded to Buda Pesth to make arrangements regarding the 6 Danube monitors to be surrendered 161906 345
